THE BRIEF
To produce an identity in the form of a logo for a new visitor attraction in Barbados. The project was to tell the history of the island going back to the beginning of time.The logo needed to be acceptable and meaningful to the Barbadian people as well as to our client.
THE SOLUTION
Our research highlighted that there was an indigenous species of crested hummingbird, called the Doctor Booby Bird, which is found only in Barbados. Hummingbirds are the only birds that can hover and fly backwards. What better image could we use to help us travel back in time? The bird can be seen in our logo taking nectar from the Pride of Barbados – a flower which is an emblem of the island.
THE RESULT
The new centre is at an early stage of development.
